چکیده

Two-dimensional (2D) magnets have great potentials for applications in next-generation information devices. Since the recent experimental discovery of intrinsic 2D magnetism monolayer CrI3 and few-layer Cr2Ge2Te6, intense studies been stimulated pursuing more revealing their intriguing physical properties. In comparison to based on 3d electrons, 4f electrons can provide larger magnetic moments stronger spin–orbit coupling but much less studied forms. Only very years some exciting results obtained this area. mini-review, we will introduce progress Gd halides from a theoretical aspect. It is noteworthy that 5d orbitals both play key roles these materials. For GdX2 (X = I, Br, Cl, F) monolayers related Janus monolayers, robust ferromagnetism with large exchanges comes 4f7 + 5d1 hybridization Gd2+. The spatially expanded act as bridge couple localized spins. GdX3 intercalation metal atoms dope into Gd’s orbitals, which leads numerous properties, such ferroelasticity, ferromagnetism, anisotropic conductance. brief, establish an effective strategy take advantage f-electron

Heterometallic 3d-4f single-molecule magnets.

The promising potential applications, such as information processing and storage or molecular spintronics, of single-molecule magnets (SMMs) have spurred on the research of new, better SMMs. In this context, lanthanide ions have been seen as ideal candidates for new heterometallic transition metal-lanthanide SMMs. This perspective reviews 3d-4f SMMs up to 2014 and highlights the most significan...

Dynamics of Vortices in Two-Dimensional Magnets

Theories, simulations and experiments on vortex dynamics in quasi-two-dimensional magnetic materials are reviewed. These materials can be modelled by the classical two-dimensional anisotropic Heisenberg model with XY (easy-plane) symmetry. There are two types of vortices, characterized by their polarization (a second topological charge in addition to the vorticity): Planar vortices have Newtoni...

Specific heat of two–dimensional diluted magnets

Using Monte Carlo techniques, the two–dimensional site–diluted Ising model is studied. In particular, properties of the specific heat, its critical behaviour and the emergence of a non–singular maximum above the transition temperature at moderate concentration of defects, are discussed.

Two-Dimensional Halide Perovskites: Tuning Electronic Activities of Defects.

Two-dimensional (2D) halide perovskites are emerging as promising candidates for nanoelectronics and optoelectronics. To realize their full potential, it is important to understand the role of those defects that can strongly impact material properties. In contrast to other popular 2D semiconductors (e.g., transition metal dichalcogenides MX2) for which defects typically induce harmful traps, we...

Two–Dimensional Magnetic Solitons and Thermodynamics of Quasi–Two–Dimensional Magnets

The article reviews two–dimensional magnetic solitons in a classical weakly– anisotropic Heisenberg magnets. Topological classification, structure, dynamical properties and thermodynamical contribution of 2D solitons to response functions of the magnet are discussed. On the basis of taking in the paper effective equations of motion we calculated the soliton contribution to the dynamical structu...
